If you’re looking for a stress-free holiday away from the hustle and bustle of the city, then Castle Rock Cottage is the property for you: exchange the cacophony of city life for birdsong and the sound of the sea
and soak up the historic attractions and beautiful beaches in the East Neuk.
Castle Rock Cottage is situated in the heart of Crail, a picturesque fishing village in the East Neuk of Fife…think winding cobbled streets, a small harbour with creel boats, and quaint gabled houses.
This four-bedroom cottage sleeps up to seven guests, so it is the ideal size for family holidays with aunts, uncles, and grandparents. There are two bathrooms so there won’t be a long

There’s also a lovely, south-facing, enclosed garden — a great space for you and your kids to enjoy relaxed evening drinks and good food on the patio, which boasts outdoor chairs and a table. Outside the property, there’s also free parking.

Crail is just a short drive from Kingsbarns, St Andrews, and Elie, with a selection of beautiful beaches, perfect for family days out filled with sandcastle building, rock pooling, ice creams, and picnics.
Whilst in St Andrews, you could also soak up some culture and visit one of the museums in the town —there’s the Bell Pettigrew for budding biologists, the R&A World Golf Museum for fans of the ‘beautiful game’, and the Wardlaw Museum for those interested in the history of the university. Last but by no means least, there is a fantastic array of cafés and restaurants in the local area… check out our blog posts on quick lunches, hot chocolates, vegetarian cuisine, burgers, and pizzas for more information!
The Crail Food Festival is a highlight of the village calendar, with many stalls, tastings, and talks. This is certainly an event to add to your diary if you’d describe yourself as a connoisseur of good food or enjoy delicious dishes! We’d also recommend heading to the Crail Harbour Gallery to peruse local artwork and enjoy a beverage and a slice of cake, as well as the Crail Pottery workshop if you’d like to purchase a piece of stoneware or earthenware to remember your holiday at Castle Rock Cottage.
