How to get married in Fife, Scotland?
Scotland is very accommodating to those wanting to tie the knot – you don’t need to be a resident and only need to follow the legal requirements.
For example:
- Ensure you book your registrar or religious celebrant, and they agree to marry you.
- Both of you must complete a Marriage Notice Form, and it needs to be with the relevant area registrar at least 29 days before your wedding.
- With the Form, you’ll need to include the registrar fee and other documentation, such as ID, proof of address, etc.
- If you’re choosing a religious or belief ceremony, a Marriage Schedule is required. You’ll need to collect this a week before your wedding and return it completed within three days of the ceremony.
