    St. Andrews in Fife is just over an hour and a half from Edinburgh by car and 2 hours by public transport. Stagecoach and the Local Bus Company offer regular buses across the East Neuk of Fife from there to help you explore the coastal towns and villages. 

    The East Neuk of Fife is also quite walkable around the coastline, with the Fife Coastal Path running from St Andrews past Elie.
