It’s that time of year again. Have you got your Valentine’s Day plans sorted?

Not sure how to say ‘I love you’?

Think that a box of chocolates or a bunch of flowers just won’t cut the mustard?

Fear not, we’ve got you covered. Book a romantic getaway and make memories with your loved one that will last a lifetime.

Whether you’re looking for a town-centre townhouse, a coastal cottage, or a luxurious lodge, we’ve got something that will be perfect for you and your partner. If you’re looking to play Cupid, you could even book one of our larger properties and take some friends away with you! Once you’ve booked your accommodation, you’ll need to think about your itinerary. Here are our five favourite activities for a Valentine’s vacation:

A dreamy dinner

Have a date night to remember and book a table at one of the delightful restaurants in St Andrews. Head to Stewarts Resort to enjoy delicious sharing boards filled with charcuterie, cheeses, seafood, breads, or a grilled Black Isle rib eye steak — paired with a bottle of Chardonnay or Shiraz, you’ve got your romantic dinner sorted.

Alternatively, if you and your partner prefer nights in to dining out, why not head to the M&S in town and treat yourself to their £20 Valentine’s meal deal, which includes a starter, main, side, dessert, and drink for two people.

You can then assemble and enjoy your meal back at your rental property. There are some sumptuous options… think soufflé tarts, rump steak, squash risotto, dauphinoise potatoes, melt-in-the-middle puddings, and profiterole stacks.

Last, but by no means least, if you’re looking for true opulence, we’d recommend booking a table at 18 St Andrews. Their Valentine’s menu is designed for sharing with a loved one and sounds simply delightful. Our mouth’s watering at the sound of a crème brûlée served with roasted rhubarb, blood oranges, and a buttery pistachio sable biscuit!

A romantic read

There’s nothing like a good love story to get you into the Valentine’s spirit. Head to Topping & Co. to enjoy perusing the floor-to-ceiling shelves of books, and then treat your other half to a new novel. The booksellers always have excellent recommendations, and you can even enjoy tea or coffee whilst you browse. Truly, a lovely morning out.

A sunset stroll

The West Sands is the perfect place to head for a romantic walk with your partner — the sands stretch for miles, and you can walk hand-in-hand with your other half and soak up the beautiful views of the Eden Estuary on the way out, and of the historic town and world-famous golf courses on the way back.

For those staying at Ruddon Grange, you’re just a hop, skip, and a jump from the beautiful Elie-Earlsferry beach. Why not meander down for an evening stroll, and then walk back via The Ship Inn for a wee dram or a chilled glass of white wine?

A delightful dip

Light some candles, put on some soft music, crack open a bottle of bubbly, and hop into the hot tub to enjoy a relaxed, romantic evening with your partner at one of our luxury hot tub properties. You’ll be able to laugh, chat, and enjoy each other’s company, and your stresses will melt away whilst immersed in the warm waters. Oh, and if you want to take your evening to the next level, why not buy some tasty truffles to enjoy with your loved one? If you’re feeling tempted by the idea of time in the hot tub and wouldn’t say no to a relaxing spa treatment, check out our lovely lodges at Stewarts Resort.

A movie marathon

To get in the Valentine’s spirit, why not enjoy back-to-back rom coms at one of our cosy properties? The Swallows and Sandpiper Cottage are great options if your pet pooch is the love of your life… both properties are pet-friendly, and so you can curl up on the sofa with your partner and your pup!
